How to play Space Invaders
- Move your ship left and right along the bottom of the screen.
- Shoot the descending alien grid before it reaches your line.
- Aliens speed up as their numbers thin — the last few are the fastest.
- Four shields absorb fire from both sides but erode as they take hits.

Tips & strategy
- Shoot the outside columns first to narrow the grid's horizontal travel.
- Do not hide under a shield for too long — your own shots damage it from below.
- The bonus saucer that crosses the top is worth a large, random score.
- Clearing a wave fully restores nothing, so protect your three lives from wave one.
Frequently asked questions
Do the aliens get faster?
Yes. The whole formation moves quicker as you destroy it, which is why the final two or three aliens are the hardest part of a wave.
What is the flying saucer worth?
Between 50 and 300 points, chosen at random when you hit it.
Can shields be repaired?
No, but a fresh set is issued at the start of each new wave.
