How to play 2048
- Slide all tiles in one direction using the arrow keys or a swipe.
- Two tiles with the same number merge into one tile of double the value.
- A new 2 or 4 appears after every move that changes the board.
- Make a 2048 tile to win — then keep going for a higher score if you want.

Tips & strategy
- Pick one corner and never move in the direction that would empty it.
- Keep your largest tile in that corner and build a descending row alongside it.
- Use up and down sparingly if you are anchoring on a left or right corner.
- When the board fills, merge the smallest tiles first to reopen space.

What is the highest possible tile?
On a 4×4 board the theoretical maximum is 131072, but reaching 8192 already requires near-perfect play.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes, one move back, using the Undo button or the U key. Undo is disabled immediately after a restart.
Does the game end at 2048?
No. You get a win message and can carry on until no legal moves remain.
