Tips & strategy

  • Work toward the centre — pegs stranded on the arms are the hardest to clear.
  • Every jump removes exactly one peg, so 31 jumps is a perfect game from 32 pegs.
  • Look two moves ahead: a jump that isolates a peg can cost you the solve.
  • If you stall, fewer pegs left still beats giving up — the board scores what remains.

Frequently asked questions

What is a perfect solve?

Clearing the board down to a single peg — ideally the one left sitting in the centre hole.

Can the standard board always be solved?

The classic English board can be solved to one peg, but careless jumps can leave you stranded with several.

How is my score tracked?

Your record is the fewest pegs left at the end — one is perfect.
